In real life the men I meet are not like that at all. Worst case for example could be the openly hostile laws against women or literal murders. It's misogynistic and evil circlejerk that bleeds to a real world. I have seen threads were the common joke is calling some innocent woman whore. This is hostile platform towards women in general. Many men feel so edgy, immature and downright evil in reddit in my opinion. I do agree with you about the issues in social networks. I read your previous comments in this thread. Is anyone else overwhelmed by these comments on reddit? what's something we can do to move against it? i'd love to hear about what you wonderful people have to say on this, since this sub is an informative and empowering space for me. or, you'll receive a flurry of downvotes with no productive exchange. they seem to be tired of hearing about inclusivity and dismiss our protests as things they already know. Trying to initiate a dialogue seems pointless. i feel so excluded from the internet culture i enjoy because a lot of what i see is misogyny passed off as humour or edginess. i'm tired of the 'it's just a joke, you need to chill out' retorts. these remarks imply that the person in the meme (who happens to be a woman) is messing up / embarrassing themselves / doing the funny thing because of the fact that they're a woman. I see these comment threads in a jarring amount of subs, when i'm just trying to enjoy a meme or looking for conversations about it in the comments of the post.
